St Mary's College Community Connections Week

Parents, family & friends, Old Scholars and guests, join us for a week of community celebrations, including:

Greek Taverna Night

Hosted by Thespinis Asimina and the 6-piece Greek band 'Enosis', this hour-long show is filled with traditional Greek music and dancing. Thespinis will teach everyone some valuable Greek words and customs, her dance group' Island Hoppers' will perform, and the audience will dance the Zorba! A night not to miss. Yiasou!

Paint & Sip Night

Come along and enjoy a glass of wine and chat with friends while you create a piece of artwork to take home under the direction of our artist in residence and Arts team! $10 covers your artwork.

Ukelele for Beginners

Have you ever wanted to play the easiest, cutest, most joyous little instrument? The ukulele is genuinely the easiest instrument to learn; no experience is necessary! By the end of our session, you will be able to 'jam' together, playing various songs. But be warned – you will most likely want to go straight to a music shop to buy your ukulele on the way home. So, put on your Hawaiian shirts and come and try the ukulele.

Hip Hop for Beginners

Join Old Scholar (Class of 2021) and professional Hip Hop Dance Teacher Gabriella Aoukar for a Hip Hop for beginners! Come along and find your groove!

African Drumming

Join Jo Richards from Dreadlock Drumming as she helps you explore Africa's rhythm, beat, and groove through a practical session on a selection of African hand drums. No experience is necessary, and everyone gets to play!

Japanese Bookbinding

Learn the beautiful art of Japanese Book Binding with Professional Artist and Sculptor James Parker. Take home what you create.

A Song for St Mary's Project

Connecting the Dots in Music is a progressive organisation that serves as a connector between the arts, education, and community sectors. With a commitment to building connections, the team at Connecting the Dots harness the power of music. Based on the Lullaby Project Australia, "A Song for St Mary's" will aim to empower you through music and connection. You will collaborate with professional artists to write a piece of music shaped around their inspiration and ideas for the evening. The focus could be a family lullaby, a song for our earth, an anthem for women....the possibilities are endless! Most importantly, no music experience is required.

Pub Choir - with Libby O'Donovan

No singing experience is necessary, just a willingness to explore the world of singing together! Anyone can join this mass 'pub choir' where you will be guided and inspired by the recent recipient of the 2022 Adelaide Cabaret Festival's prestigious Icon Award, Libby O'Donovan. You will learn a selection of songs by experimenting with melody, harmony and rhythm in a relaxed choral setting. Come and give it a go – the more people involved, the louder the sound!
