Death Cafe is a gathering space to talk openly about death, dying and maybe a little of grief and loss — in order to live more fully, love more deeply, and connect more courageously.

We invite you to join us for a gentle, open, and deeply human conversation about one of life’s great certainties: death.
In a world that often avoids the topic, this webinar is an opportunity to pause and reflect on our personal and collective relationships with death — not as a morbid fixation, but as a doorway to greater appreciation for life, connection, and meaning.
Drawing on Steve Jobs' reflection that "Death is very likely the single best invention of Life. It is Life’s change agent," we’ll explore:

How our understanding of death shapes the way we live
Cultural and personal stories that influence our fear, acceptance, or peace with dying
Ways to hold space for conversations about death — with ourselves and with others
What opens up when we make peace with our own impermanence

This is not a lecture — it’s a conversation. A space to listen, to share if
you feel moved, and to connect with others who are curious, uncertain,
grieving, or simply human

What to Expect

We’ve invited Ben James, founder of LifeRites — a holistic funeral guide and death doula — to open this session.

Ben will share reflections from years of walking alongside people in death and dying — and patterns he’s noticed in how men and women experience and navigate these moments differently.

After this short introduction (15-20 mins), we’ll break into small groups (4-5 men) for conversation and reflection around three questions:

What is your relationship with your own death and dying?

How do you orient yourself toward others who are dying or grieving?

A Few Things to Know

There is no right or wrong way to do this.

Bring your story, your feelings, your reflections — as much or as little as you’re comfortable with.
We’re more interested in your heart story than a big back story.
Listening deeply is as valuable as speaking

This conversation is for men who want to show up more fully — for themselves, for those they love, and for their Men’s Table.

Men who have already walked this path in their own Tables — we would love you to join us and share your experience.

By the end of the evening, we hope you’ll feel more ready to support yourself — and your Table — to engage with death conversations with care, courage, and compassion.
