Needs! What are they? How do we get them met? What do we do when we have needs that are impossible to meet in this current moment in human history?

These are some of the things we will delve into at the next Community Conversations.

In my experience, 'Needs' is an unwieldy topic. While everyone agrees that we biologically need food, water, and shelter to survive, the collective agreement stops there. For example, when it comes to 'shelter' as a need, there are significant differences of approach when it comes to who deserves what kind of housing and how it will be funded/provided.

There's also the massive missing piece of emotional needs in most people's list of 'core needs'. And theeeeen, we get to trying to unravel the differences between 'needs', 'wants', and 'desires'. Ohhhhh I could write A LOT about these things (and have been for years) but that gives you some hints about what might come up to be talked about on the night!

Come join us for the second last Community Conversations of the year! (The last one for the year will be on the 8th December and we will be talking about 'Rituals and Traditions')

----------

'Community Conversations' is a community offering that I host because...
I want to talk about interesting things more!

I want to skip the small talk and pretty much just launch in.
And I know that some of you want that too. The multiple Community Conversations thus far have been SO wholesome and interesting. Sometimes funny, sometimes intense, always delightfully real and human.

A new topic every gathering.

Part personal shares, part philosophical, existential, and societal discussion.

Space for many different perspectives, as long as we can share them with curiosity. Staying curious about our own experience and that of others.

As is the general culture of these gatherings, the direction of the conversation/s will be lead by group consensus. You may very well leave with more unanswered questions than you came with - excellent! We're not hunting for answers, we're just cultivating the ability to be consistent explorers.

---

We may converse in dyads, small groups, and the full group depending on numbers and how things flow. We will aim for everyone's voice to be given equitable space.

This will be a lightly guided space where level of verbal contribution is quite flexible. You may feel like you have a lot to share, or you may feel inspired to listen more.

RSVPS essential, exact address will only be sent out to those who have committed to coming.

We meet 8th September, 6:30-8pm, Coolum.

$5 contribution and a snack to share highly appreciated. (Contributions either through Humanitix or just on the day. :) If either of those things are a problem, no worries, we'd rather have you here than not. )

Pre-gathering questions, concerns, and verbose enthusiasm very welcome.

See you there, curiosity at the fore,

Gabriella

And I am always, always looking for ways to support and be part of more quality conversations.

PLEASE NOTE: These spaces are NOT group therapy sessions or spaces to 'trauma dump'. We are aiming to be able to hold and explore the topics both emotionally and intellectually, personally and collectively. If the topic is super raw or intense for you, this might not be the right container for you at this time. Please be mindful of your own capacity and support needs.
