Join us in raising funds to support Venezuelan families who lost everything in the recent earthquakes that devastated La Guaira, Venezuela.

Why are we fundraising?
On the 24th of June 2026, Venezuela was hit by two earthquakes of 7.5 and 7.2 magnitude in quick succession, followed by over 1,331 aftershocks over the next few days. The earthquakes killed over 5,000 Venezuelans, over 16,740 have been injured, and an estimated 50,000 people are missing.
Their loved ones are desperately searching for them under the rubble of collapsed buildings, or trying to find the means to bury loved ones who passed away. Many Venezuelans have lost their homes and livelihoods, with over 21,120 living in shelters.
In this time of need, civilians have stepped up to help each other, using their already limited time and money to provide food, drinking water, medicine, and aid to those who need it. However, many Venezuelans report feeling abandoned by their government in this time of need, and the poorest Venezuelans have been the most affected.
While it feels heartbreaking and helpless to be far from Venezuela during this time of need, we are channeling those feelings into action by organising this fundraiser. We hope you will join us to raise funds to send to families who have lost everything, to help them rebuild.
Alone we can only do so much, but collectively we can make a real difference.
Funds raised will be split between two recipients:
Marielys and Family
Marielys, Antonio and their two children lived in La Guaira, Venezuela. Their home was destroyed in the earthquake, and Marielys injured her leg during their escape from a second floor window. Now, they need help paying for medical fees to heal her leg, find a home to rent and support her return to work.
Mates Without Borders
A not-for-profit registered charity founded by Venezuelans in Australia, whose purpose is to relieve poverty by funding initiatives and projects to established and reputable non-governmental organizations (NGO’s) in Venezuela.
