Community Cupping with EEF Coffee

Join Market Lane and EEF Coffee for a fun, casual and informative coffee-tasting session, where we'll taste and discuss a selection of our favourite coffees.

Cupping is a system of tasting and evaluating coffee that is used across the entire coffee supply chain. At Market Lane, cupping helps us decide which lots to purchase, provide direct feedback to our producing partners, and ensure that each and every batch of coffee that leaves our Roastery HQ is tasting its very best.

For this special session, we're turning our attention toward to different origins: Colombia and Bolivia, to compare the differences and similarities between two very unique coffee producing countries.

We will introduce some of the incredible people, communities and cooperatives that we work with there, and share the stories behind the coffees we'll be tasting.

Whether you're new to cupping or a seasoned taster, this session is a wonderful way to compare coffees side by side and develop your palate. When coffees are experienced comparatively, their different flavour profiles emerge — and tasting a selection from a single coffee-producing country is a great way to explore the diversity that region, elevation and processing can bring to the cup.

We'll keep things fun and accessible, while introducing some of the techniques we use in the industry to taste coffee professionally and objectively, with the goal of helping you feel more confident and informed the next time you're ordering a coffee or buying beans.
