Community, Care & Creating New Worlds!
Event description
Come together for an intergenerational evening of communal conversation, cognitive decolonisation and creative collaboration. Through panel conversation, group discussions, shared food and ideas, we will begin / continue co-creating ways of distancing ourselves from white supremacist empirical structures in this day and age. Together, we will remember/create ways to centre intentional love and care practices in our personal and communal day to day lives.
Focussing on intentionally redefining ‘love’, ‘care’, ‘community’ and ‘solidarity’, this evening hopes to inspire a continuation of revolutionary practice in a world riddled with corruption, evil and complacency.
We will vision, dream up and co-create potential new modes of care and collective resistance, recognising the space as a starting point for a much larger, ongoing conversation. In times like these, we need each other. We need each others’ unique perspectives, skills, love and energy. this space is an offering to sit in mutual acknowledgement of that, and see what kind of radically loving worlds we might build together.
We acknowledge and understand the inherent tension in holding this event on stolen Gadigal Wangal Country. We pay respects and extend genuine solidarity to elders, ancestors and all custodians of this land and indigenous people world wide. We offer this space as a platform for First Nations voices and honour Aboriginal practices of resistance which have been ongoing within this colony since invasion.
This event is held at The Red Rattler Theatre as part of their Future Community Arts Program, we thank them for their generosity and support inn actualising the space.
