    Event description

Community engagement on the protection of Indigenous cultural and intellectual property

The Australian Government is seeking the views of communities and organisations across the country to inform the development of new laws to address the harm caused by fake art, merchandise and souvenirs.

The legislation will be developed through a First Nations-led process, and to ensure we hear a wide-range of views, the Office for the Arts is holding public engagement sessions over 10 weeks from 4 March to 6 May 2024.

To have your sayjoin us at one of the 41 in-person community engagement sessions in 38 locations in each state and territory across Australia. You can also participate in one of three online session to be held on 3, 14 and 26 June. Please visit our website at arts.gov.au/icip.

You can register to join a session or can also just turn up on the day. If you can’t make it to an in-person engagement session, you can have your say online on our website.
