Community Forum - Building Action on January 26th

The Bendigo Reconciliation Committee invites you to participate in a forum that is focusing on the need to change January 26th as the date for Australia Day.

The aim of the forum is:

• To promote a great understanding of the impact of January 26th on First Nations people and the cultural load that is carried by First Nations people.
• To hear what the local community and organisations are doing to promote a change to January 26th public holiday.

Speakers at the forum will include Russell Adcock. Russell will speak about cultural load for First Nations people, the need for the community and organisations to gain a greater understanding of what cultural load means and the impact of January 26th as the public holiday for Australia Day.

TIME: 5:30pm-7:00pm

LOCATION: Bendigo Library – Performance Space

This event will be held in-person and is open to all community members who would like to join.
