This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

Come along to hear about a collaborative effort in establishing a community garden for the Ashburton Community.

We have secured land in the heart of Ashburton township, and need community input and support to make this a thriving space for our community to come together, connect, share knowledge, gain skills and grow nutritious kai.

  • In this free community event, Stephanie Poole, Health Promotion Officer from Te Mana Ora, will speak about the positive impacts of community gardens on health and wellbeing.
  • Lesley Ottey, who played a significant role in the establishment of the Kaiapoi Community Gardens and has a background in Horticulture, will share her experiences.
  • This will be a great opportunity to find out how to get involved in the set up and running of a community garden in Ashburton

Everyone is welcome to attend this hui organised by Stephanie from Te Mana Ora, Kate from Connecting Mid Canterbury Charitable Trust and Semi from the Ashburton Salvation Army.

The venue is the Event Space in the new Ashburton Public Library. That's the tiered seating area in the middle of the ground floor.
