Need a break from the daily grind? Join us for an epic day out in nature! Healthy Hospo NZ is inviting you to a day hike on the Omanawanui track, where we’ll connect, walk, share a delicious lunch, and recharge.

This is an amazing opportunity to get active, enjoy some beautiful scenery, and connect with like-minded hospo crew. All while prioritising your wellbeing!

📅 Event Details – Monday 9th November 2026:

📍 Meeting Point & Time: Meet in Auckland Central for carpooling at 9:30am

OR Omanawānui Track Carpak (Whātipu Road) 10:45am

🥾 Hike: Ōmanawanui Track (7.5-8km return)
🍽️ Lunch provided en route
📍Depart Carpark: 3:15PM. Arrive back to Auckland approx 4:30pm.

What to Expect:

Carpooling where possible: We can help you suss a ride if you need one!
A Scenic Walk: Panoramic 360 degree views of the Manukau Harbour, Waitākere Ranges, and Whatipū Beach.
Difficulty: This is a moderate to challenging trail featuring over 2400 built stairs (each way) approximately 350m of elevation gain and steep ridge sections.
Lunch Provided: A nourishing, delicious lunch will be provided halfway through the hike, so please let us know if you have any dietary requirements or food allergies when you sign up.
An Awesome Day Out: We’re here to get Hospo outside, connecting with each other, and connecting with our beautiful whenua. We’ll pace ourselves and look out for each other!

What to Bring:

Comfortable clothing and sturdy footwear for the hike (weather-appropriate layers / raincoat).
Sunhat
Sunscreen
A water bottle (at least 2L)
Snacks and any extra food you may need

We’ll send you a packing list once you’re all registered.

This will help us plan for lunch, transport, and make sure we’re prepared for any special requirements.
