Community Information Session - Murray Inland Delta Landscape Impact Project
Event description
The project's aim is to discover the largest environmental outcomes farmers in our region can achieve individually and collectively - and be financially rewarded for it!
Farmers from ten farms near Gonn, Barham, Caldwell, and Tooleybuc have come together to maximise the benefits of an aggregated approach and a landscape-scale strategy.
The project team has identified opportunities for farmers to participate in carbon and biodiversity markets, improving their land's natural assets and productivity while accessing financial rewards. Immediate opportunities include entry into the Australian carbon market, overseen by the Clean Energy Regulator (CER), with biodiverse carbon plantations generating Australian Carbon Credit Units (ACCUs).
An information pack has been developed to guide you through becoming a member of Regen Farmers Mutual, the only Australian farmer-owned environmental markets project developer, setting up a registered ACCU Scheme project, either independently or through the Mutual, to build a resilient and productive agricultural landscape for future generations.
