Description
UNESCO International Creative City for Craft & Folk Art Bid - Community Kōrero
Join Creative Northland for a Community Kōrero as we begin the consultation process for the Whangārei community to explore becoming a UNESCO-recognised Creative City for the Craft & Folk Art Bid.
This information session will provide an update on the bid, explain what the UNESCO Creative Cities Network is, outline what the consultation process will involve throughout July, and share how you can help shape this exciting opportunity for our region.
There will also be time at the end of the session for questions, discussion, and feedback.
Whether you're an artist, maker, creative practitioner, community organisation, business owner, or simply interested in the future of creativity in Te Tai Tokerau, we warmly invite you to join the conversation.
Date: Wednesday, 29th July 2026
Time: 6:30 pm – 8 pm
Venue: Octagon Theatre, 13 Aubrey Street, Regent, Whangārei
Together, let's explore how we can celebrate, strengthen, and showcase the creativity that makes our region unique.
