Community Landcare Planting and First Nations event – a project of collective action in Macedon

Join us for a meaningful start to a special day of community care for Country.

On Saturday, 8 August 2026, the Macedon and Mt Macedon Landcare Group will open its planting event with a Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony, conducted by Wurundjeri Elder Uncle Colin Hunter Jnr, beginning at 10am at 77 Margaret St, Macedon - look for the Landcare sign.

Following the ceremony, volunteers will come together to plant approximately 500 native plants along the creek, as part of the broader 'Planting' event facilitated by Creative Climate.

A light lunch will be provided after the planting.

There will be a variety of tasks, depending on you level of energy, and we'll supply the tools.

Bring along your garden gloves, sun-protective clothing, and sturdy footwear.

It's a wonderful opportunity to honour Traditional Custodians while helping restore and revegetate this beautiful stretch of waterway.
