Community Leadership in Emergencies
Event description
Have you been thinking about the power of community? Wondering how your networks handle emergencies? Maybe you’re keen to meet more of your neighbours and build stronger connections?
Come along to this free event for some peer-to-peer learning with fellow Nillumbik residents to explore what community preparedness means for you and your networks.
We are seeing more extreme weather, financial hardship and social vulnerability all around us, which makes it all the more important to build strong communities that can look after and advocate for each other.
The day will include an informal panel discussion with local community connectors who will share some of their experiences of responding and recovering from the Black Saturday fires in 2009, followed by some breakout sessions to connect and discuss topics important to you.
Refreshments & lunch will be provided!
