Community Nap - Gadigal (YOGA NIDRA)
Description
Slow down. Lie down. Drift between wakefulness and dreaming.
This Community Nap invites you to rest with other community movers and shakers - a collective pause for those who give, build, and carry too much.
Inspired by Tricia Hersey’s Rest Is Resistance, the ancient practice of Yoga Nidra, and modern neuroscience on Non-Sleep Deep Rest (NSDR) from Stanford’s Huberman Lab, this event is designed to build the capacity of changemakers to remain resilient in the face of stress, uncertainty or toxicity - both through learning and a shared experience.
When our work is driven by care, it’s easy to forget to care for ourselves.
We don’t have to earn this pause. We only have to arrive - body, breath, and the willingness to stop for a moment.
🧘🏽♀️ What to Expect

About Purposefields
Purposefields is a social enterprise for people who care deeply - about the world, their work, and their wellbeing. We offer 1-1 career coaching and therapy, curate and organise wellness events, and run workshops where we apply theory into practice in community.
Purposefields blends evidence-based, cultural, and contemplative practices to make wellbeing accessible, practical, communal, ethical and a lived experience.
The hope is that by helping changemakers reconnect to themselves, the earth and each other, we can sustain the change we're here to make and live by example to be a positive influence for the people we are trying to serve.
As a social enterprise, proceeds from our events support community-led wellbeing programs in places that need them most - so that wellness and wellbeing are democratised human rights, not private luxuries.
We exist to make the wellness industry more sustainable - for people, for the systems they shape, and for the planet.
