[COMMUNITY OF PRACTICE]: SA Lived Experience Advocates & Representatives
Description
About the Community of Practice (CoP):
This is an invitation for South Australian lived experience advocates and representatives to come together to co-create a mutually supportive CoP for people who are using their experience as volunteers in grassroots advocacy or as paid participants.
Our goal is to provide an accessible space for people using their lived experience within community to share ideas, learnings and influence with one another. We consider it essential to develop each CoP with its own dedicated forum, enabling the explicit skills, functions and accountability frameworks associated with each community to be thoroughly explored.
LELAN is also offering a CoP for people working in designated roles: [COMMUNITY OF PRACTICE] SA Lived Experience (Peer) Workforce
What is a CoP:
A CoP fosters shared learning, knowledge creation and collaboration about issues that matter to the people that attend. They are relational and they are conversational. Initial gatherings scheduled for October and November 2026 will be an opportunity to discuss intentions, format, timing, and facilitation of the CoP moving forward.
Upcoming Dates:
Wednesday 21 October 2026
10am-11:30am (ACDT - Adelaide)
Wednesday 18 November 2026
10am-11:30am (ACDT - Adelaide)
Who The CoP is For:
We recognise that there are many ways where people skilfully use their lived experience within community outside of designated roles. What this CoP looks like in the future will be shaped by who attends these first few sessions. It could be a place where advisory group members from across the state assemble, a place where grassroots advocates share solution ideas and expertise, a mix, or something else entirely!
Please consider joining us if you are:
Community advocates and grassroots campaign leaders.
Community reference group members.
Advisory committee or board members.
This is a free online event.
Please register using the Get Tickets button. You will be asked a few quick questions to assist the group facilitators in preparation.
The event will be held online using Zoom. The access link will be included in your order confirmation.
Facilitator Information:
This session will be facilitated by Tanya Blazewicz and Kate Stewart.
