Description

About the Community of Practice (CoP):

This is an invitation for South Australians in designated lived experience (peer) roles to come together to co-create a mutually supportive Community of Practice.

Our goal is to provide an accessible space for people in designated roles to share learnings across NGOs and state services beyond the barriers of program funding. We consider it essential to develop each CoP with its own dedicated forum, enabling the explicit skills, functions and accountability frameworks associated with each community to be thoroughly explored.

LELAN is also offering a CoP for people using their lived experience as an advocate or representative: [COMMUNITY OF PRACTICE] SA Lived Experience Advocates & Representatives.

What is a Community of Practice (CoP):

A CoP fosters shared learning, knowledge creation and collaboration about issues that matter to the people that attend. They are relational and they are conversational. Initial gatherings scheduled for October and November 2026 will be an opportunity to discuss intentions, format, timing, and facilitation of the CoP moving forward.

Upcoming Dates:

  • Wednesday 7 October 2026

    • 10am-11:30am (ACDT - Adelaide)

  • Wednesday 4 November 2026

    • 10am-11:30am (ACDT - Adelaide)

Who The CoP is For:

When we use the term 'peer worker' at LELAN, we are meaning anyone working in a lived experience designated role, including family/carer roles. This could be across service delivery within state or NGO programs, leadership, project work, research or NDIS packages.

Please consider joining us if you are:

  • Currently working in a designated lived experience (peer) role, including family/carer roles.

  • Previously working in a designated lived experience (peer) role, including family/carer roles and wanting to remain connected.
