Description

This training is aimed at early years practitioners who are delivering Open Kindergartens or supporting families in ways akin with the Open Kindergarten approach.

The Open Kindergarten partnership invites you to explore the Open Kindergarten approach in action. These sessions are a chance for us to hear from you, the practitioners and leaders. You may be further on in your journey, or you may just be starting out.

Our growing network will reflect and learn together on our shared experiences of starting, embedding and providing person led, whole family support in the early years across Scotland.

This training is fully funded by Scottish Government’s Whole Family Wellbeing Fund, as part of Phase 4 of the Open Kindergarten project led by Parenting Across Scotland, Midlothian Sure Start and Children in Scotland.

Additional learning topics will be developed to respond to the emerging needs you share. Other prominent topics will be incorporated into our sessions together.

Key Learnings may include:

  • Getting started in practice and how it’s going

  • Addressing gaps and challenges you may have identified, including additional support for practitioners and/or families that may be needed

  • Supporting inclusion, infant and child rights, Additional Support Needs, SALT, neurodiversity children and adults in families

  • Reflections on other training in the Open Kindergarten learning programme you may have attended
