Community Planting Day - Glenview
Event description
As part of National Landcare Week, we are calling out to all outdoor and environmental enthusiasts to join us for a Landcare community tree planting day! We are seeking volunteers to give a few hours of their time to help plant native plants as part of a habitat linkages project aimed at connecting Burrinjuck to Bango Nature Reserves.
What We'll Be Doing:
We will be planting native trees and shrubs on private property near Bookham (35min from Yass) to help restore the local ecosystem, create habitats for native wildlife, and extend vegetation corridors throughout the district.
Who Can Participate:
No prior experience is necessary, and all ages are welcome! We will provide all the necessary tools and equipment and guide you through the planting process. Just come dressed in comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing and bring a water bottle.
Why You Should Join:
This is a fantastic opportunity to meet new people, learn about some of the plants native to our area, make a positive impact on our local environment, and have fun! Join us and be a part of a bigger project to create a healthier, connected landscape.
What to bring;
- Pair of gloves;
- Water bottle ; and
- Weather appropriate clothing.
- If you have a small spade you may like to bring that also.
We look forward to seeing you there!
Lunch and morning tea provided.
Children are welcome with adult supervision.
