Community Planting, Hove

Come and spend the morning planting at the Holdfast Bay Community Centre!

The City of Holdfast Bay has been working diligently to improve the facilities at the Holdfast Bay Community Centre in Hove. This improvement includes the gardens around the centre. Some of these areas have been tidied up by our open space team and they are now ready for planting!

We would like to invite you to join council for a fun morning of planting followed by a sausage sizzle. This will be an opportunity to volunteer your time, get to know other residents, local schools and the wider community and assist in building a community that cares about each other and the environment

Please arrive at 10.45am to allow time for registrations. Bring along gardening gloves and a small hand trowel, wear long pants, a long-sleeved shirt and a hat or rain jacket (depending on the weather). We will provide any additional tools and equipment that are needed. Children will need to be supervised at all times by a parent or guardian at a 1 to 3 ratio.

Bookings are essential so we can make sure we have enough equipment for everyone. 

We are also looking for on-going volunteers to maintain the area and the new plants established during the event. Please talk to us on the day if this is something that is of interest to you.
