Join us for a Community Planting Workshop at Harbourview-Ōrangihina Park, Te Atatū Peninsula!

Harbourview-Ōrangihina is a stunning mosaic of freshwater wetlands and coastal ecosystems, home to a diverse range of rare and threatened native species — but invasive weeds and pest animals pose a significant threat to these taonga.

This Matariki, Community Waitākere is inviting conservation-conscious locals to help restore a section of the reserve previously overrun by pest plants.

Get hands-on, meet new people, and contribute directly to a local taiāo restoration project while learning about the vital ecosystem services these coastal wetlands provide our community. We'll be planting a range of native species to help restore wetland function, enhance flood resilience, and provide habitat for our taonga species.

Come along to connect with your community and hear from local volunteer and conservation organisations working to protect this special place — and find out how you can (easily!) get involved. Numbers are limited for this event, so please register below
