You're Invited: Five Dock Community Recycling Centre 10 Year Anniversary Open Day!

For the first time ever, we're giving you an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at how your local waste facility operates! Join us as we celebrate 10 years of the Five Dock Community Recycling Centre (CRC).

What to Expect

Over the past decade, the CRC has helped our community divert tonnes of problem waste from landfill. Now, you can see how it all works!

Our 30-minute guided tours will take you through the full journey of your waste, from collection to processing. You'll learn:

• What materials are accepted at the facility

• Where your recyclables and waste go after drop-off

• What happens to materials once they leave the centre

• Essential site safety procedures for future visits (traffic flow, parking, and safe loading/unloading)

Each tour wraps up with a 15-minute Q&A, so bring your questions!

Session Details

• 4 x 45 mins tour sessions available throughout the day

• Limited to 15 community members per session (bookings essential)

• Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your start time to check in so tours can depart on schedule.

On the Day

• Free Coffee Onsite: We're bringing in a coffee van to help us celebrate! Please bring your reusable keep cup to help us keep this event zero-waste.

• Enclosed Shoes Required: Closed-toe footwear is strictly required for all attendees. Note: Anyone without enclosed shoes will unfortunately not be permitted on the tour.

• Hi-Vis Vests: Provided on arrival for the duration of your tour.

• Sun & Weather Protection: Parts of the tour take place outdoors—please bring a hat, sunscreen, and a reusable water bottle.

• People under the age of 16: Must be accompanied by an adult.

Important Site Notice

The facility will be closed to regular operations on the day of the open day. No waste or recyclable materials can be dropped off as this is a dedicated event for the community tour only.
