The second of six workshops planned for 2024 to build community resilience to drought.

The online workshop will be hosted at six locations across the South West (see below) and will involve a review of past local experiences and projects to address community resilience and the impacts of drought.

GUEST SPEAKER: SAM BURGESS

Sam farms in Arthur River and has first-hand experience of being overwhelmed with stress and isolation. Fortunately, he also has an uplifting story of how he dealt with his situation. Now he shares his story with others in the hope of encouraging people in rural communities to reach out for help when they need it.

Followed by:

- Group discussion will identify actions to build community resilience to drought or other impacts.

- Building resilient communities ahead of a predicted increase in drought events.

- Sharing ideas between groups.

The workshop will be held at Community Resource Centres (CRCs) in: Boyup Brook, Bridgetown, Donnybrook, Harvey, Brunswick Junction and Manjimup. Attendance at these locations is preferred, but if not possible, a meeting link will be sent.

It is the second in a planned series of six workshops for 2024, designed to create a Community Resilience Network - One of five "Surviving the Dry" projects in the South West.
