The ACT Government is developing a new regulation to prevent new gas network connections.

It is part of the Pathway to Electrification: a plan to electrify our city and achieve zero emissions from fossil fuel gas by 2045.

This webinar is for the ACT community and households, to provide feedback on the issues that have already been identified, and to raise some of the things that may not have been considered yet.

Community input is important to make sure the regulation considers the impacts of a change like this on all members of the ACT community.

This webinar is for the ACT community and households, including homeowners, renters, landlords and small business owners.

Webinar details

This webinar will be held online on Zoom and will run for 1 hour. The webinar will be interactive, with participants able to contribute their views through an online tool called Mentimeter.

The link to join the webinar will be sent to you via Humanitix at the email address you register with, in the days leading up to the event.

What the webinar will cover

The webinar will provide an overview of the ACT Government’s Pathway to Electrification and detail the new regulation to prevent to fossil fuel gas connections, including the associated issues paper.

The webinar will include a panel discussion with:

Dr Thomas Longden, ANU Climate Change Institute
Shannon Battisson, ACT resident and Director at Mill Design Architects
A representative from the Environment, Planning and Sustainable Development Directorate in the ACT Government

You will also be able to share your feedback and ideas in real-time through an interactive online tool.
