Event description

About the Project:

Are you ready to step into the spotlight?

Come join The “I Am” Project in this community workshop to develop skills in how your story can be part of public advocacy and systems change!

We will be hearing some examples before having space to work on and develop our own narratives.

There will then be time to practice these skills by being part of vox pop recordings. This is where you can be recorded in audio or in video to feature in content and materials LELAN will use to advocate for our community.

This is a FREE small group workshop with limited places, so early registration is encouraged. Snacks will be provided.

Who this is for:

This community workshop is for anyone who feels ready to step into public advocacy. It will best suit folks who have shared their lived experience and expertise before, who see themselves being part of lived experience leadership.

Outline:

This is an interactive facilitated workshop that will include:

  • Training presentation on skills and examples of using narratives for purpose,
  • Community connection space to become comfortable telling stories for change,
  • Optional opportunity to practice by being filmed/recorded and feature in LELAN advocacy materials.

Venue:

The location for this event will be upstairs in the Loft at the Minor Works Building, 22 Stamford Court, Adelaide CBD. There is lift access, a small kitchenette, and some spaces downstairs for anyone needing a break.

Facilitators:

Your Facilitators for this Project will be Jess, Chloe, Amy and Emrys.
