Sutherland Shire Council and Southern Eastern Sydney Local Health District are inviting you to take part in our Compassionate Communities Conversations.

Compassionate Communities are groups of people and places where everyone plays a supporting role for each other in times of crisis – including serious illness, end of life, death, grieving, and caregiving.

This 2-hour open conversation is for community members, groups, and leaders to learn how we can take care of each other during tough times - it's not a task solely for health and social services, but a community responsibility. Everyone can be ready, willing and confident to support each other in emotional and practical ways.

This open discussion is for:

People who show up to support their friends, family, and neighbours
People who are community minded
People who do not work in end of life and loss related fields
Representatives of organisations that work with local communities (such as volunteers and retired seniors)

These events are being held in partnership with NSW Health in support of Palliative Care Week.
