It's time again for another complete robotics course! ProxiTech is hosting the ultimate preparation course for the RoboRAVE Australia competition, Professional RoboRAVE Robotics, hosted only these Easter Holidays at the Peregian.

Day 1 is a great beginner's course or refresher with an overview of some great robotics systems to use for the RoboRAVE competition, including Lego SPIKE, Micromelon, and Arduino! Day 2 will put these robots to the test in some of the challenges from RoboRAVE, including maze solving in Mouse Labyrinth! Day 3 will conclude with an ultimate guide to creating a Sumo robot for RoboRAVE, covering some more advanced engineering and programming concepts on Arduino!

Workshop Dates.

These workshops are all located at the Peregian Digital Hub during the 2024 Easter holidays on the following dates:

    • Travel to and from the workshops.
    • (Preferred) Laptop to code on (no tablets/iPads).

If your student does not have a laptop we will provide them with one. If you cannot download the software before the session, please ensure any parental controls allow for us to download it during the workshop.

    Pre-Knowledge and Age Requirements.

This course is split into 3 sessions with distinct levels of difficulty. Complete beginners in coding and robotics are encouraged to attend the Tuesday and Wednesday sessions. Only students with some or significant robotics experience should attend the Thursday session, as the content covered is more difficult and abstract. Advanced students are still encouraged to attend the Tuesday and Wednesday sessions to reinforce any gaps in their knowledge and provide a complete experience.

Age is usually not a determining factor in a student's abilities in robotics, however, we do recommend your child has some level of experience using a keyboard and mouse/trackpad on a laptop, as it's an important skill to have for programming. If you have any questions regarding your student's eligibility for the course, please reach out to Oscar for further details.
