Compliance Training - Cairns
Event description
Most of us didn’t start a community organisation because we were dying to read legislation. But staying on top of compliance is what keeps the doors open, the funds flowing, and the headaches away.
ECCQ and Cairns Regional Council are pleased to invite you to join this workshop, in which we’ll cut through the jargon and look at what multicultural community organisations really need to tick off, including:
Office of Fair Trading and ACNC requirements
work health and safety (WHS)
tax and financial reporting
privacy and data protection
child safety obligations
lease and tenancy arrangements
fundraising rules (yes, even raffles and sausage sizzles)
insurance essentials (public liability, volunteer cover, directors’ insurance)
We’ll talk about what matters, what doesn’t, and how to keep your committee out of trouble—without getting stuck in paperwork. If you would like your association to be more “confidently compliant” and less “crossing our fingers and hoping”, this is the session for you.
Note that we will also deliver a session on Saturday 18 October, on Strategic and Operational Planning, and you are welcome to join both sessions. We advise that you register to secure your spot.
Light refreshments will be provided. If you have any questions, please contact us at advocacy@eccq.com.au
