Event description
This is an opportunity to learn firsthand about an innovative community/cafe collaboration to reduce organic matter, mainly coffee grounds, going to landfill! This project generates compost, worm castings, eggs and connections! Simply come to the cafe and look for the table sign! Take a seat and join in the conversation. Local neighbours, known as the Coburg Composters, will speak about the project, how it’s done and why they are putting so much love and enthusiasm into waste!

This workshop forms part of the Coburg Community Garden Festival Program and is a My Smart Garden event proudly presented by Merri-bek City Council on the unceded land of the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung people of the Kulin nation. My Smart Garden pays our respect to Elders past, present and emerging and acknowledges that First Nations peoples have cared for Country sustainably for tens of thousands of years.
