Come join us and soak up the atmosphere of high-energy flamenco dance and guitar rhythms in our spectacular acoustic venue with Paco Lara’s Flamenco Trio. The floor-boards will be shaking as Deya struts her stuff with Australia’s foremost flamenco guitarist, Paco Lara, and the so talented pianist and percussionist Byron who manages to do both at the same time. Deya and Paco learned and honed their skills in Jerez, Spain, the home of flamenco and bring their electric performance direct to you with a varied program to intrigue both young and not-so-young. Then chat with our artists after the show is over, with a glass of wine or enjoy our famous country-hospitality high tea. An exciting start to the Silo Sounds 2026 recital series!
ABOUT OUR ARTISTS
PACO LARA
Paco Lara is an acclaimed flamenco guitarist from Jerez in Spain, the birthplace and cradle of flamenco. Paco begin playing guitar at 8 years old and was working professionally by the age of 16 years including alongside his brothers - singer José Lara and guitarist Santiago Lara. Embodying the unmistakable and genuine Jerez style of flamenco guitar playing Paco Lara has toured internationally with Paco Cepero, one of flamenco’s legendary guitarists and composers.
Apart from his skill as a formidable soloist, Paco is also revered for his ability as an accompanist in the specialised world of flamenco singing, with tours to Chile, Peru and the European circuit encompassing Spain, France, Munich and St Petersburg. He has recorded over 20 albums with some of the best Spanish flamenco artists.
In 2017, Paco moved with his family to Australia and has since called Down Under his home. Here, he has performed across the country with various flamenco dance companies with recent sold-out venues in Canberra, Byron Bay and Queanbeyan. Sydney Opera House and the Adelaide International Guitar Festival have placed Paco as the most prominent flamenco guitarist in Australia.

DEYA MIRANDA GINER
Deya Miranda is a professional flamenco dancer and the principal dance instructor at the Newcastle Flamenco Dance. She began to dance flamenco in 1992 at the age of 16 in Menorca, Spain, with Paqui Ferrer and continued perfecting her art with Diana Reyes in Sydney. Several years later, Deya returned to Spain where she studied with various renowned master dancers.
In the years that followed, Deya’s dance engagements took off both in Spain and the Netherlands and, on return to Australia, she performed with local guitarist Damian Wright in Newcastle and Sydney. However, Deya had fallen completely in love with Spain where she starting spending more and more time.
In 2009, Deya moved to Jerez (the birthplace of flamenco art) where she met her partner Paco Lara, the renowned flamenco guitarist. Their combined talents and passion led them to a string of performances all over the world. Deya returned to Australia on a permanent basis in 2017 where she continues to delight audiences with her craft and passion for flamenco dance.

BYRON MARK
Byron Mark is a professional percussionist, pianist and composer who has established himself as an in-demand funk, flamenco, jazz and pop performer both in Australia and internationally. Studies in classical piano morphed into skills with drums, percussion and saxophone, besides specialist training in the cajon in Spain and djembe from West Africa.
Having completed a Bachelor of Composition and Master of Teaching, Byron regularly performs and composes for various artists around Australia. Current projects include being percussionist and pianist with the contemporary flamenco group ‘Arrebato Ensemble’, keyboards in the Frank Zappa show ‘Petulant Frenzy’ and his newly formed septet featuring string quartet, piano and percussion.
Byron intrigues audiences with his unique performance setup when playing in pop duo/trio formats, where he plays keyboards and percussion simultaneously.
