    Event description

This concert is dedicated to our dear friend and club vice president, Rod Cork.
Both Rod and his wife, Judy, have always loved Folk Music and have been tremendous supporters of the Illawarra Folk Club, from being actively involved in Concerts and the Illawarra Folk Festival to coordinating the Folk by the Sea festival in Kiama.

With a cast of amazing musicians, from Enda Kenny, Michael Waugh, The Water Runners, Penny Hartgerink, John Tubridy, Dave Oliphant, Nerida Cuddy and many more, this concert is not to be missed.

Tickets are free but must be pre-booked as places are limited.

A donation of $20 is encouraged to help fund the Community Cancer Nurses, Illawarra and to help with the travel costs of these generous performers who are giving this tribute to Rod.

Enda Kenny - A multi-award winning songwriter and twice winner of the Port Fairy Folk Festival songwriting award, Enda's recent compositions highlight his quirky sense of humour and add to an already impressive catalogue of songs.

Michael Waugh - Since his 2016 debut, Michael has released three albums of deeply relatable, emotional story songs based on characters and events from around his home town of Maffra in Eastern Victoria. He will join us via a pre-recorded video from Melbourne.

The Water Runners-  a much loved local South Coast band who play a high energy blend of original, bluegrass-infused Australian folk that also draws on country, roots and traditional folk. They sing songs of bushrangers, Aboriginal warriors, grisly murders and ghostly tales...as well as the odd song about love and, of course, love gone wrong

Penny Hartgerink- Another wonderful well known Kiama musician. A singer/songwriter with roots in folk and reggae, performing beautiful acoustic tunes.

John Tubridy - a great local singer /songwriter with stories so relevant for today.

Dave Oliphant - a well-known Helensburgh musician with a long history of special performances in the folk music world

Nerida Cuddy- a singer songwriter from Central West NSW. Capturing stories in finely crafted lyrics and emotive melodies, she sings from the heart with both a social conscience and a sense of humour.

Other wonderful acts appearing include: Chris Wilson and John Spillane, Helen & Tony Romero, Graeme Morrison, plus many more.
