Land+Sky Concert with Olas Perdidas
Event description
Olas Perdidas blends the vibrant, percussive sound of Son Jarocho from Veracruz Mexico with 'coastal folk' acoustic. It is a fresh take on the wild west that is rich with authenticity and story; at times bright and festive, and other times soulful and haunting.
In the autumn twilight of October 25th, on the sprawling lawn of historic Rancho Santa Clara Del Norte, their sound will soar where Mexican, Spanish, Chumash, and European families have crossed paths and shared their culture for hundreds of years.
Todd Hannigan, Xocoyotzin Moraza and every member of the Olas Perdias ensemble are musical legends in their own right. Todd is a grammy-winning composer, engineer, singer and musician; Xoco is part of the Moraza family of Son Jarocho musicians and is widely sought for his vocals and technical skills in studio sessions.
Todd and Xoco were selected to be Artists in Residence for Land+Sky 2025 at Rancho Santa Clara Del Norte. They will be playing songs from their new album, part of which was inspired and composed during their time at the ranch.
