What We'll Do

6.30 pm - Learn - Bugs for Bugs

Presented by Dan Papacek, Entomologist, Bugs for Bugs P/L

  • Would you like to learn about Integrated Pest Management?
  • Are you interested in using insect species as natural enemies to help manage pest problems in your garden?
  • Did you know you can use good bugs to control bad bugs?

During this informative session, Dan Papacek will talk to us about the principles of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) including:

  • Biological Control
  • Cultural Control
  • Chemical Control

Within the framework of biological control, Dan will focus on:

  • Augmentation Biological Control
  • Conservation Biological Control

He will also bring some display insects and a microscope if you are interested in getting a closer look.

Dan will be happy to take questions both during and after the presentation.

He will show how the Bugs for Bugs website is structured, how individuals might work out which species may help them, and how to order products if interested.
