Connect at Hemsworth Estate
Event description
Afternoon Tea & Garden Stroll – Connect & Celebrate Community
Enjoy an elegant afternoon tea at Hemsworth Estate from 2pm on Wednesday 8th October. Meet new people and share great conversations in beautiful surroundings. Hemsworth Estate is a lovingly restored Edwardian Villa with luxury accommodation, afternoon tea offerings and romantic gardens, just 5 minutes drive from Ashburton.
You'll get a small tour of the historic homestead, a chance to wander in the gardens, soak in the peaceful atmosphere, and connect with others over a cuppa or a treat. There's no cost to the event - you just pay for your own afternoon tea at the venue (hot drinks are $6 and cakes, biscuits or tea sandwiches $6-$8). Cash or credit card accepted.
This gathering also marks Mid Canterbury TimeBank’s 8th birthday – a perfect chance to learn more about how TimeBanking works, or if you’re already a member, to celebrate with friends old and new. Come along for an afternoon of connection, conversation and community - which is what the Timebank is all about!
All are welcome but please get your free tickets before Monday October 6 so we can make table reservations that include you. Please note that the homestead is not wheelchair accessible, although the garden is - and if nice, we can sit at tables outside. There is an outdoor bathroom block with an accessible toilet.
This is the third of five events Keep Learning Mid Canterbury has organised during Mental Health Awareness Week to promote The 5 Ways to Wellbeing, with the focus of this one being 'Connect'. Other events are:
Learn to Knit (Keep Learning), Monday October 6 @ 10am
Permission to Pause (Take Notice), Tuesday October 7 @ 7pm
Give Bowls a Go (Be Active), Friday October 10 @ 5.30pm
Made to Give (Give), Saturday October 11 @ 1pm
