Connected in Nature: Living Our Values For Nature
Description
Connected in Nature: Living Our Values for Nature
What do you value when it comes to nature, and how do those values show up in the way you live?
This September, Connected in Nature is exploring something that lies beneath so many of our choices, relationships, and actions: our values.
We often know that we care about nature. But why do we care? What matters most to us when we think about the natural world? And what happens when we connect those values with the way we act?
For this gathering, we’ll spend time outdoors and use a deck of values cards to help us explore the values that resonate most strongly with us when we think about nature.
You might discover values like care, connection, responsibility, curiosity, courage, justice, belonging, compassion or stewardship or something you hadn’t considered before.

🌱 What we’ll do together
Through a series of gentle, interactive activities, we will:
Explore a selection of values and notice which ones speak to us
Identify the values that feel most connected to our relationship with nature
Reflect on why those particular values matter to us
Share and hear different perspectives from others in the group
Explore how our values can move beyond ideas and into everyday choices and actions
Create a collective picture of the values we want to carry forward for nature
There’s no need to know your values beforehand, and there are no right or wrong answers. You’re simply invited to come curious and see what emerges.
💚 From values to action
Knowing what matters to us is only the beginning.
If care is one of our values, what does caring for nature look like in practice?
If we value connection, how might we create more opportunities to connect with the natural world?
If we value responsibility, what might we choose to take responsibility for?
Together, we’ll explore the small ways our values can become something we live, rather than something we simply believe.
You’ll leave with a clearer sense of the values that shape your relationship with nature and one value you want to intentionally put into practice.

🌿 Who is this for?
Everyone.
You don’t need to work in conservation, know the names of plants, or consider yourself an “environmental person”.
Connected in Nature is for anyone curious about their relationship with the natural world and interested in connecting with others through thoughtful conversation, reflection and shared experiences.
Come as you are. Bring your curiosity.
Let’s discover what matters to us and how we can live those values for nature 🌱
