Connected School Communities - Exhibition Opening
Event description
The Connected School Communities art exhibit brings together artwork by school students from across Greater Shepparton. The art is multimodal, including multimedia portraits, sculptures and audio-visual media. The theme of connection and the experience of art creation weave together providing young art makers with the opportunity to exercise their artistry, while also building their wellbeing literacy. Connection to other students, teachers, family and community, are core contributors to wellbeing. Expressing connection through art, the experience of flow during art making, and the joy of being recognised and celebrated as valued art makers, also supports wellbeing. Special thanks goes to local artist Shiro who inspired and supported this exhibit, as well as the dedicated art teachers who lead classes and contributed student art to this exhibit including Rylea Taylor (Bourchier Street Primary School), Aleisa Miksad (All Saints Anglican School), Matt Hooper (Sacred Heart Tatura), and Philip Hickingbotham (Shepparton Christian College).
