Event description

Let's connect for mental health.

Join us for an inspiring community forum as we get ready for Queensland Mental Health Week.

While this event is part of our Queensland Primary Health Care Network (QPHCN) series, it is a gathering for everyone—community leaders, health workers, and anyone passionate about wellbeing. It’s a chance to connect, collaborate, and discuss what really matters in mental health, all inspired by this year's theme, 'Connect for mental health'.

During this 90-minute session, you'll hear from leaders and advocates making a real difference in our community.

To stay up to date sign-up to the QMHW newsletter: here

  • The in-person event has limited seats and is $50 to join! Food and refreshments will be available for people joining in-person.

  • This event is free for CheckUP Members and Outreach providers.

  • The event is free to join online

Who will be speaking at the event?

Ivan Frkovic, Queensland Mental Health Commissioner

As the Queensland Mental Health Commissioner, Ivan has extensive experience across the mental health sector.

His work focuses on driving reform and improving the mental health and wellbeing of all Queenslanders.

James Hill joins us to share his personal story and insights.

James said, "I use my experience and journey to demonstrate anyone can experience mental ill-health, I want to create an environment where people are able to recognise signs of declining mental health early and have an understanding of what interventions are available and how to access them.

In order for people to speak openly we need a safe environment and that begins with deeper understanding, compassion and empathy."

Emily Wolter

CEO of Queensland Alliance for Mental Health, the peak body for community mental health and wellbeing in Queensland.

Previously Deputy CEO at Mental Health Victoria and a Director in Communications and Marketing in the NFP space, she blends international business, research, politics, policy, and finance to drive systems change.

Emily is committed to championing sector reform, modernising communication strategies for impact, and delivering on initiatives that centre the wisdom of lived and living experience.
