A focus for the UWA Data Institute this year has been turning conversations with industry into opportunities for collaboration and impact.
Our Industry Innovation Challenges grew from exactly that. Following a showcase of UWA research across a range of disciplines, WA Chief Scientist Professor Sharath Sriram challenged us to think about “what now, what’s next?” That conversation helped spark the Industry Innovation Challenges, which we launched to industry at the beginning of the year.
At Data Insights 2026, we’ll come back to that story, hear from Prof. Sharath Sriram in our keynote, share some of what has emerged through the year and look ahead to where these connections could take us next.
