    Initiatives For Women In Need Inc (known as IWiN) invites all ACT women to the launching of its STEM Women Networking Session, Connecting The Dots, on Wednesday 24 July 2024 at the ACT Legislative Assembly.

    REGISTRATION is Mandatory

    Don't miss this opportunity to  meet and listen to our amazing Guest Speaker  *Dr Yvette Poudjom Djomani*  and comnect with other STEM women leaders of ACT.

    Yvette is a geophysicist with over 25 years’ experience in geophysical data processing, visualisation and interpretation. 

    Yvette started working as a Senior geophysicist in the minerals team at Geoscience Australia, but has now shifted to work in the offshore energy systems team, looking at evaluating hydrocarbon and gas potential in offshore Australian basins. 

    She also holds an MBA in general administration and brings a holistic perspective on leadership, human resources and managing change. 

    Born and raised in Cameroon, Yvette moved to France to pursue her tertiary studies. After obtaining her PhD in geophysics, she migrated to Australia and since then she has successfully navigated a career across academia, private consulting and public service.

    Yvette is passionate about promoting gender equity and, for several years, has chaired a staff-led network at her workplace, focussing on encouraging  behaviours for an inclusive culture. In 2020, she won the CEOs special award for her work in diversity and inclusion. 

     In 2021, together with a group of African leaders, Yvette launched the African Australian Council ACT Inc., a peak body that advocates for the African community in the ACT. As the president, and together with the Executive Committee, Yvette leads the council with rigour, promotes the rich African cultural heritage and educates the Australian community about its value and contribution to the success of multiculturalism in Australi
