Connection to Place, the Nature of Home

This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

There’s a special place in Roy Marten Reserve at Taperoo. It’s a place outlined by coastal native food plants of many shapes, colours, textures and habits. They, in turn, are surrounded by larger trees and sand dunes. And within that special place is a very special space, a labyrinth.

Join me at the labyrinth during this Nature Festival. Together we’ll immerse ourselves in our surroundings, and we’ll explore our sense of place, and that which we call “home” We’ll work with personal representations and look at how the labyrinth can be a path of both insight and meaning. We’ll consider questions that will take us deeper into ourselves, our self-awareness and our understandings, and on a guided labyrinth walk we’ll let the gentle turns and spirals of the labyrinth draw us into mindful awareness, listen to our inner voice, and allow our body wisdom to surface.

  • The Roy Marten Reserve extends from Military Road to Lady Gowrie Drive. You will find the labyrinth just to the west of the dog park. Access the Reserve from car parks on either Lady Gowrie Drive or Military Road, Taperoo
  • Bring a folding chair, sunscreen, water bottle.
  • Wear clothing appropriate for weather
