An intimate support group for people-pleasers and conflict avoiders to unpack the roots of these patterns and build skills to move towards conflict

6-8 pm on Mondays June 16 & June 23 at Flanders House

This is for you if you:
• identify as a people pleaser or as conflict avoidant
• need help discerning when and how to lean into conflict
• want to speak up for your needs more without creating distance
• are curious about somatic approaches to work through blocks in conflict
• want to do this work in community to dissolve shame & learn from others

Receive support from Somatic Coach and Conflict Transformation specialist Lux Gypsum to unpack and transform your conflict avoidance & people pleasing patterns into conflict competence & confidence.

This container will include journaling to deepen your self awareness, group shares to learn from each other, teachings & reflection from Lux to expand your understanding, and support to somatically unwind old patterns and practice new ways of showing up so that new possibilities will be accessible to you in real-life conflict.

About the space:

We will be gathered in a large office on the 3rd floor of Flanders House, with up to 5 people present. There will be an air filter running and AC if it was a hot day. There also is sometimes some background chatter from Everett House if we have the window open.

Investment:

$100-250 for the 2-week series.

Sliding Scale Guidance:

A sliding scale is an equity-based payment structure where the participant’s financial situation informs the rate they pay for a service.

The bullet points listed below are just a few examples to help guide your self-assessment. I trust you to factor in these considerations and choose the level that feels right for you at this moment.

Choose a rate on the low end ($100-150) of the sliding scale if you:

Do not have a financial safety net
Have large debt or student loans
Are Black, Indigenous, or otherwise systemically disadvantaged based on your identities

Choose a rate in the middle ($150-200) of the sliding scale if you:

Can go out to eat without thinking about your finances
Have a salaried job with benefits
Have family that would financially support you if you needed it

Choose a rate on the high end ($200-250) of the sliding scale if you:

Own property or other significant assets
Make over $100K per year
Never feel scared of not having enough

Please pay at the highest rate that you are able to, and know that there is no ceiling. Your generosity supports me in offering spots to those who are unable to pay.

About the facilitator:

Lux (all pronouns) is a compassionate, caring guide in conflict. They have taken dozens of trainings on conflict, trauma, and attachment, and have been holding space for people's hardest and most important conversations as a Conflict Mediator for 5 years. With a lot of care for each person's needs and survival patterns, they offer a skillful blend of compassionate and honest reflection to love you where you are and help you grow into your edges.
