Meet the Facilitators:

🌷Deb Griffiths

Deb Griffiths, the founder of Down to Earth Funerals, had a calling to offer Adelaide a genuine, heart-felt alternative to death-care and funerals that she felt was not being offered. Her calling was strong enough, that as a single mum to two children, she sold her house to pursue this vision. Deb’s path into the world of death came initially from studying yoga, and much later when her father died and she arranged his fantastic funeral which was a true celebration of his life, she knew she wanted to offer this service to everyone.

Deb loves both the planet and people, so as much as possible our deathcare is eco-friendly with a return to transparent, gentle after-death care.

🌷Briget Kelly

Briget is an End of Life Doula and Recreational Therapist who values quality of life, and feels called to support people at the end of life.

I provide personalised support for older people and those with life-limiting conditions to improve their quality of life and prepare for the end of life.

It is my intention to support individuals, families and carers.

I also wish to contribute to change for communities and society: to bring about more positive attitudes around ageing; create systems that help people to live with a good quality of life; and, to break down the taboos that exist around death and dying.

🌷Megan Tombs

My name is Megan and I work as a mortician within a funeral home.
Through a lot of soul searching for my purpose on this earth I found myself considering after death care - since stepping into this vocation I doubt I will ever look back.
I find a huge sense of purpose and privilege working with the deceased and being in a position to care for those at their most vulnerable.
I am at the start of my journey within death care and I am excited for the future - growing my own understanding and knowledge whilst connecting deeply with families and their loved ones in a truly meaningful way.

🌷Joan Carpenter

My name is Joan Carpenter, and this is my bio: Like most facilitators/practitioners I have a range of diplomas, credentials, trainings, and certificates. However, what I would rather speak about is this!

I am a Woman and Elder - of which I do not take lightly - as it comes with a responsibility of integrity.

I am a Mother and friend – both to myself as well as others.

I am a Helper in the Healing Arts - listening with my ears, my heart and my hands with others as their healing unfolds.

I journey this life practicing to be kind, to be present, to be compassionate ..I love to hold space for others to access their own wisdom and answers.

I take direction with humility from my inner self, Spirit, and intuition as much as humanly possible.

Flow is my business model.
