The Future Supermarket - A Conscious Market Day at BETA By STH BNK
Event description
As part of Melbourne Design Week, visitors will experience a retail shop prototype from the future. Curated, unique, constantly adaptive, Hanover House is a beacon for both the retail and creative communities. A dynamic hub of social activity, it’s a fluid and adaptive space where designers, retailers and brands can co-create and grow. During MDW, visitors will be able to move through various areas within Hanover House, each offering a different prototype of the future retail.
The Future Supermarket is imagined through a market day with Melbourne’s most innovative local food, drink and home offerings, all of which operate with social, environmental and cultural currency in mind. Visitors will also have the opportunity to explore learning spaces throughout BETA that champion sustainable materials , time-honoured techniques and those designing for legacy. These learning spaces will allow engagement with local resident artisans who are reimagining and developing future materials such as those imagined from post-consumer materials, objects made from robust and malleable paper, and more.
