    Event description

Using conservation adhesive to secure objects on display

Conservators at Canterbury Museum have found a safe adhesive that can be used to secure objects such as ceramics and glass on display. It is safe and easy to apply and helps to prevent damage during seismic events.

This workshop is for museum and small collection staff (volunteers or professional) to show you how to use these handy adhesive dots!

During this workshop Canterbury Museum conservator Emily Fryer will talk about the adhesive and the type of objects it can be used to secure. Participants will also get the chance to try applying the product themselves to an object.

    • UC Teece Museum, 3 Hereford St, Chch
    • Tuesday 5 December 2023, 9.30am to 11:30am.
    • Workshop is free, but seats are limited so registration is essential.

At the end of the workshop there will be an opportunity for those who wish to see the adhesive in action at Ravenscar house, please allow an extra half hour for this.

This workshop is a collaboration between Canterbury Museum and the University of Canterbury Teece Museum.
