Event description

The Conservation Council ACT Region and ACF Community Group Canberra are excited to present a screening of the popular feature documentary FRANKLIN on Wednesday 14 December!

The award-winning documentary walks through the history of Australia's most significant environmental campaign from the eyes of eighth-generation Tasmanian and environmentalist Oliver Cassidy on a solo rafting trip down the Franklin River.

The ‘Franklin campaign’ was an eight-year long journey to save a World-Heritage listed national park from being destroyed by a huge hydroelectric dam project in the 1980s.

Donations are encouraged and can be made during registration or at the event. By donating to the Conservation Council ACT Region you can directly contribute to our work towards shaping a sustainable future for the ACT and beyond.

Please note: As per cinema policy, tickets must be purchased prior to the event and cannot be purchased at the door.
