    Event description

Learn some basic conservation principles with emerging object conservator Fen Reyes!

Fen (@Paraloidb72 ) will take you through ways to clean and repair common household objects using heritage conservation principles that can be applied to almost anything! With a focus on sustainability and object storytelling, come along and learn how to best look after your favourite items.

This workshop will focus specifically on ceramics. Participants are welcome to bring in their own broken ceramics or objects for repair (although mock ceramics will be provided on the day).

Fen Reyes (they/them) is a first generation Filipino migrant with Ibaloi roots and emerging object conservator. Their current career path all stemmed from the desire to solve the all important question: “What if I could touch the cool rocks at the museum...”
Fen is an awardee of the National Geographic Explorers Grant for the project 'Preventive Conservation of the Kabayan Mummies', which aims to gather long-term environmental data from known mummy sites in Kabayan, the Philippines. (To learn more, follow @kabayanmummyproject on Instagram.)
In their spare time they like to play video games and muse on the best Pokémon teams for different fictional characters.
