Consolidating Pottery Skills
This course will:
focus on consolidation of pottery skills with an emphasis on student projects
provide structured lessons where specific skills/processes are described, demonstrated and practiced
include detailed notes on lesson content (emailed notes)
emphasise improving the finish of all projects
This class is for all levels of ability.
Some previous experience would be advantageous but not essential.
This class is for those who wish to learn and strengthen/develop their skills.
Class size limited to 8 facilitating a more individual focus.
Required materials
Materials (clay, glaze, firing) are not covered in the course cost.
Covered shoes
Apron or similar
Hand towel
Book with robust cover to take notes etc
Comfortable clothing - avoid very loose and flowing attire
Any pottery tools - not essential but helpful

About the tutor
Allan Casey has a teaching background in secondary education (BA Dip Ed, Cert 4 in Workplace Assessment).
Lifelong passion for photography (several exhibitions)
Background in glass work (lead lighting, bead making, fusing and slumping)
Pottery - expertise in hand building and wheel work
involvement in local pottery groups and exhibitions, presented numerous workshops
member of The Australian Ceramics Association - participant in annual Open Studio Program
