Contact Printing Workshop
Description
Darkroom Photography: Contact Printing
For this workshop we will be using sustainable chemistry made from domestic items, to create analogue prints on photopaper using our phone screens.
The workshop will take place in our temporary DIY darkroom that is currently installed in Embassy Gallery for our exhibition, ‘Against Capture’ that runs from February 14th - 7th of March.

Contact prints are made from the touch of a negative image onto light-sensitive paper and exposure to light, which leads to a print the exact size of the original image.
Photography, at its simplest, is a sequence of the presence and absence of light. Using our phone screens, we will think about the trace of the digital image and how time and touch might disrupt this seemingly binary system.
All are welcome, absolutely no previous darkroom experience is required. All materials will be provided by EMBASSY.
