***Marnie Lane Bio***

Marnie Lane is a Contact Staff and movement artist of 23 years and highly regarded as the leading female contact staff practictioner in Australia. Delving deep into the study of the fluidity and the capabilities of the human body in movement, she has transposed all that she has learned to Contact. This cross discipline approach has led Marnie to exploring unusual body pathways, groundwork, and expressions of dance with Staff. She combines technical skill with grace, challenging the boundaries of what the mind believes possible in the ways that the human body can interact with a straight line.

Marnie has travelled throughout Australia, New Zealand, UK, Europe and Eastern Europe learning, teaching and sharing the Fire Arts. Marnie recently completed the Artists residency program at The Art House Wyong with her project Movement and Line. The project Movement & Line aimed to further develop her knowledge and understanding of movement pathways, building an artistic performance and the practices and processes required. Integrating this new knowledge and freedom of expression into an impressive and memorable Contact Staff performance that combines technical skill with grace, challenging the boundaries of what the mind believes possible in the ways that the human body can interact with a straight line.
