Contemplation of Sorrow
Description
Contemplation of Sorrow
Location: Carnegie Library of Squirrel Hill: Meeting Room A
Date: Thursday, February 26th 5.30pm-7.30pm
Age Group: Adults (18+)
Skill Level: All Levels
Description:
This in-person, two-hour writing session invites participants to explore sorrow, whether personal, collective, quiet, loud, or unresolved, through the genre of their choice. Using guided prompts and short readings, we’ll examine what’s heavy, complicated, or long avoided, and see what happens when sorrow is given language instead of silence.
This is a supportive, consent-centered space. Participants are always free to share, pass, or step back as needed. What’s written and shared stays in the room.
By the end of this workshop, participants will have new language and entry points for writing about sorrow, loss, and difficult emotions and produce at least one draft sparked by guided prompts and literary examples
